Most small business websites do not break all at once. They wear out quietly, and the owner is usually the last to hear about it.
The SSL certificate expires, and visitors get a browser warning telling them the site is not secure. Plenty of them leave.
Plugins and themes fall out of date. Out-of-date software is a common way into a site, and it is also how features stop working after a browser or platform update.
Backups fail and nobody notices. That is fine until the day you need one.
The contact form stops sending. Nothing looks wrong on the page, but enquiries go nowhere, and the phone goes quiet without anyone knowing why.
Pages get slower as images pile up and old code lingers. On a phone, a slow page loses people before they read a word.
None of this is dramatic. It is just what happens when a website is one job among forty and nobody owns it.

03 What it costs and how it compares
Care is €190 a month. That covers hosting, monitoring, security, SSL, daily backups and two hours of changes.
Website maintenance cost in Ireland varies a lot. Irish studios publish care and maintenance plans at €75 to €300 a month, and the spread reflects what is actually included. A cheaper plan may cover hosting and little else. A dearer one may include more of someone’s time.
So compare what is in each plan rather than the headline price. Ask whether hosting is included, whether backups are daily, who applies security updates, and whether any changes are included at all. Then compare like with like.

04 Two hours of changes a month
Two hours goes further than most people expect, because the changes a small business needs are usually small.
Typical requests: updating text on a page, changing prices, new opening hours for the bank holiday, swapping photographs, adding a news item, adding a new member of the team or removing one who has left.
Send us what you want changed and we do it. You do not need to log in, learn the editor or remember a password.
New pages and new features are quoted separately, in writing, before any work starts.
That way the monthly price stays the monthly price, and anything bigger is a decision you make with a number in front of you.
05 Leaving
You can cancel Care any time. There is no long contract to wait out.
If you would rather run the site yourself, or have someone else look after it, we hand it over cleanly. You own the site, and it should not be held hostage by whoever built it.
The same applies at the end of the first year. If you do not want Care, we hand the site over instead, and you take it from there.
06 Who it suits
Owner-run businesses without someone in house to look after the website. The person who would otherwise do it is also running the business, answering the phone and doing the books.

Yes, any time. If you would rather run the site yourself, we hand it over cleanly. You own the site.
Do I need a care plan if my site is new?
Not in the first year. Hosting for the first year is included in every build we do, and Care starts after that, if you want it. If you do not, we hand the site over cleanly instead.
